MACABRE ROMANCE: A GOTHIC HORROR POSTER

This cinematic, ultra-low-angle still from a gothic horror production captures a moment of dark passion and possessive dread within an ancient sepulcher. The composition is highly compressed, placing the viewer directly beneath the characters. The image has a heavy film grain, visible grit, and a shallow depth of field, emphasizing the texture of bone and fabric. In the foreground, the commanding woman, portrayed by a real actress with striking fair skin and cold, piercing grey-blue eyes, is seated on a decaying, cold mint-green stone throne. Her tousled burgundy hair cascades over her shoulders. She wears an elaborate electric lilac sequined corset-style gown with high-thigh side slits, meticulously detailed with a plunging lace-up neckline and delicate straps. Her makeup is intense: deep, smoked-out charcoal and burgundy eyeshadow, stark black eyeliner, and a matte, blackened-plum lipstick. Her nails are long, stiletto-shaped, painted with a deep, iridescent midnight blue lacquer. On her feet are highly unusual, thigh-high boots made of weathered, cold mint-green leather. They are heavily reinforced with straps, filigree, and spiked accents, all rendered in electric lilac metal. The heel is a towering, impossibly thin stiletto, and the soles show signs of wear and grave-dust. Looming claustrophobically over her from behind is a towering, skeletal male figure. He is clad in a rotted, tattered dark blue hooded cloak made of coarse burlap, and his right gauntleted hand, a piece of ancient, tarnished metal, rests heavily and possessively on her left shoulder. His skull-like face is mostly a black void beneath the hood, with only a few slivers of bone-white catching the light. The setting is an ancient gothic sepulcher, claustrophobically framed by massive cold mint-green stone arches. Blackened metal chandeliers hold sputtering, smoky candles that barely illuminate the surrounding gloom. Below her feet, the stone floor is cluttered with cracked, dust-covered pale theatrical masks and hundreds of wilted, near-black light blue roses. In the far distance, seen through a narrow, pointed window, is the silhouette of a jagged castle against a blood-red sky. DARK ROMANCE The title "DARK ROMANCE" is rendered below the roses in scratched, distressed gothic lettering, appearing as if etched into stone and filled with a sickly, oxidized gradient blend of cold mint green and electric lilac.
